Randoms

I am now addicted to Facebook. Which is sad in some ways, and really cool in others. It's fun to go through other peoples friends lists and see people that you used to know. Like how I went into this one profile friends list of a person I used to work with and found a guy who went to elementary school with me (well, I went to school with his brother but I knew him through Curtis) and then in his friend list I find other people I went to school with. Or maybe it's just that London has imploded to the point where everyone knows everyone else.

I am so excited about going to DSW to buy new shoes for the summer. You know that commercial with the girl who buys a new dress because of a pedicure? You know the one "new pedicure, thirty dollars. New red peep toe pumps to show off your new pedicure, fifty dollars. New red dress to go with red peep toe pumps to show off your pedicure, one hundred and fifty dollars. Impulse shopping, priceless."? You know that one? Ya that's me. For reals.

Today I had to go for a blood test. Which wasn't fun. I haven't had a blood test in a few years because I haven't needed one. Now it seems I have developed a lovely little ulcer and they need to test to see if it's that bacterial one. I really miss the blood lab in London. Not that the technician here wasn't uber nice (she even got me orange juice when I almost fainted on the floor) it's just that I miss the big comfy lazy boy chairs that they have at my vampire lair of choice. Because fainting in those is so much nicer than fainting in a plastic school chair. Stay tuned for the complaint about the barium drink I have to do in two weeks. Because if it's as bad as I remember the one from ten years ago, it's not going to be fun.

The federal and provincial budgets, while fabulous, have made my job a bit of a hell. Oh and I hate newspaper reporters. Because they like to make shit up.

The weather is so nice here I feel inclined to go outside and skip. Must be spring fever. I only feel like playing double dutch at this time of year. Don't ask me to explain. I think it's repressed memories or something.

Is it just me or TV kind of sucking lately? 24 has jumped the shark (in my opinion), Grey's Anatomy has been lacking of late, and Lost is starting to lose me again. Good thing I have American Idol to keep me laughing, did you see that kid crying in the audience the other night? Weird.

I need a vacation

My sister says to me yesterday: "you always get so quiet on Sunday's before you go home". She thinks it's because I'm sad, well that might be a little true, but it's mainly because I'm always so exhausted. I can't wait to get home to my bed!

The two hour drive always takes a lot out of me. I think it has more to do with the sheer volume of transport trucks on the road and the stress I feel in my little pop can of a car. We ended up staying up talking on Thursday night and my youngest niece decided she missed me so much she wanted to sleep in my bed with me. What is with little kids that they don't sleep in one position? I ended up with a foot in my neck for most of the night and a crick in my back as a result.

Friday I spent with them and then that night my sister and I stayed up to stamp. Saturday it was back up bright and early to see the esthetician (yes she's that good that I have to go to Aylmer to see her) and the Sugar Bush and my cousin's and then we stayed up watching a movie and stamping some more. Sunday it was lunch with my brother and then skating in the afternoon. I am telling you, I did all that in three short days!

My sister made me laugh when she said we do the same thing every year when we were leaving the Sugar Bush. And my attitude is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. What's not to love about going and getting to eat sugar on a stick? I ended up buying some maple butter that was so delicious and we decided instead of staying there for pancakes and sausages (oink oink) we went home and had them there instead. I think there's a Mastercard commercial in there somewhere....horse drawn trolley tour of sugar bush $3, large jug of pure maple syrup $26, enjoying a spring tradition priceless.

Who knows. All's I know is, I need a nap.

And so on

Here's the "Kit for a Cure" album I put together. Not quite finished yet (story of my life) but I'll probably sit down at some point and fill the entire thing in.

Out of Nothing at All

I did have plans to crop all weekend. That sort of fell by the wayside of course. It might have had something to do with the fact that we had company and I just didn't get around to it. Then today, when I wanted to crop, and got all organized to crop, I got the lazies. And didn't crop. So instead, photos of projects I've completed in the last little while that I've finally gotten around to capturing on film. I guess I could go into the mini album cropping mode. Because that's simple and easy to do.
This started out as a Seven Gypsies accordian book. But quickly became a Lesley original book with holes and binder clips at the top instead. It's an "either side" kind of book. On one side, my older niece, on the other side, the younger one.

Technological Ludite

I think I may have this whole "post comments" thing down with the Google Blogger. That is not to say that I actually like it.

I registered on Facebook because all my friends are there. How on earth will I keep up. Having two emails is hard.

Does anyone know how to DELETE photos off of iPods? Because apparently I have 700 of them on there and don't know how to get them off.

Excuse me while I go buy a goat and weave a skirt made from straw...

No time to play

So, no time to play this weekend. And with all the goodies in the box I got, I'm a little mad at myself for not doing that. Instead I did a few catch up things I needed to do. Like make healthy lasagna made with rice pasta instead of normal pasta noodles and organics sauce. And then a loaf of banana bread using whole wheat flour, pure maple syrup, milk, bananas and four eggs separated and the whites beaten.

Someone asked me what was in the Luxe box....well....all of this:

and all of this:

http://www.luxedesigns.com/cashmeresweater.pdf

as well as all these:

http://www.luxedesigns.com/therestherub.pdf

I have a few ideas. I just have to do them. That's for next weekend.

Today I headed to the dog show at Cobo. Got to see three of the types of dogs I love: the West Highland Terrier, the Norfolk Terrier and the Norwich Terrier. I'm thinking, if I do get a dog, it's going to be a Norfolk Terrier. They're just too cute!

Feeling better

ok I can't not be in a good mood. Because waiting on the front porch for me when I got home was this:

I have great friends! Thanks Jen, Brandy, Pam and the rest of the Luxe Team!
I'm going to play this weekend!
